I've booked a flight from the UK to Baku via Frankfurt. I've done the same several times but I can't remember if I had to clear security again when travelling from the UK. I've never gone through passport control as it's a non-EU to non-EU layover.

As to clearing security, I'm pretty sure I did so when coming back from Baku, but I'm also pretty confident I didn't have to do that when landing from the UK. I went straight to the gate for the flight to Baku.

I'm asking as I'm planning to buy wine at the duty free in the UK and carrying it to the final destination. I know that Frankfurt has started deploying the new 3D scanners but I doubt they are operation in every terminal. However, if, as I remember, I don't need to clear security again, the problem would be solved and I'd be able to carry the bottle of wine to the final destination.
