If you regularly book award tickets 330 days out, just monitor the redemption rate for your particular itinerary periodically after you book. As all AAdvantage flight awards are now refundable up until departure date, if the redemption rate comes down, you can simply rebook the itinerary at the lower rate, and then promptly cancel the original award.
