I asked via Twitter Concierge and they said you only earn points for rooms and incidentals booked under your name. I specifically provided the scenario I posted above to them.
I really don't remember how the accounting looked, but maybe it's a charge to one room and a credit to another? Or maybe they were able to just move the charges around? I've certainly had hotels move things like restaurant charges from one room to another so that I get the points - maybe that same ability applies to base room charges.
