If you canceled directly with the airline, did you confirm a refund would be processed as it was under 24 hours?

s0ju that started this thread ended up canceling directly with UA after Chase site was under maintenance for most of the first 24 hours. I don't understand how UA didn't issue a refund for that as it was within the 24 hours. I'm not sure what the end resolution was, as there wasn't any update provided.
I don't have much experience with the Chase travel portal other than booking an airline ticket once and a couple of times hotel, none of which I needed to change or cancel, but with Amex travel I've canceled airfares several times within 24 hours and zero issue always getting the full refund due.
I tried to cancel online, but it wouldn't allow it (Despite the notice saying 24 hour cancelation). I had to call to cancel, and Chase canceled it. But, they have not yet issued a refund, despite their website offering that claim. It's been six weeks, and they say it's "pending review." At this point, it's taken too long, and I need my money back because it seems like they are just playing games. Does anyone have a direct contact?
