I would book it in his name to use the GoH. Then at check-out I'd ask the charges from his folio to be moved to yours. In theory that should get you the points and the extra EQN.
Doesn't even have to be done at check out. They can set up the
routing instructions at check in so it moves over automatically as it posts. I've done this before for big family trips and even split payment at check out.
