Has anybody ever heard that having a preset spending limit on your platinum card could restrict your ability to get a centurion invite? I currently have a $500,000 spending limit (imposed after a one-time charge that is not representative of normal spending), which I never thought much about, but I read somewhere recently that this may restrict internally getting invitation. Any idea how to remove that?
I think every AMEX customer has a "limit," whether that is communicated or not. I don't have a Centurion, but I have gotten calls from AMEX that I thought were going to be financial reviews. They just wanted to check my spending plan for the rest of the month to avoid any embarrassment. I was at around $300k and the agent told me I should have no issues to at least $400k. This happened a few months in a row, and then it stopped, with even higher spend. I suspect my internal limit is even higher now.
