I just did a back to back at OTP. It was relatively easy, you do have to follow the transit sign towards the passport but you don't pass through them, you will see a small desk hopefully always manned (as the 2 weeks before this, it was unmanned) and you just have to show the officers your passport and onward boarding pass. They did ask where I came from and was going, at first with puzzled look, but when I repeated he just smiled and let me go.
You will need to pass through security again - taking out laptops, etc, but they did not seem too strict.

From deplaning to the gate was less then 15 mins (I was in CE) but even back in coach, this should be doable as I had 20 mins before boarding (which was delayed).
