I think the important metric is when the itineraries were flown and not when they were purchased. It’s my understanding that the 90-day waiver is for trips *taken* in those first 90 days, not just purchased in that time period.
For the others, you’ll get a free checked first bag (+1 traveling companion) when you purchase the flights with your United CC (as long as they’re not codeshare). I believe you also have to purchase directly from United so if you went through a third party that could be why you didn’t get the free bag benefit?
