Your situation happened to my friend and his wife a few months ago. Part pay with avios, avios never deducted. Flights were operated by QR, ticket issued by BA. He flew without any issue and it is now 3-4 months after his return and the avios still haven’t been deducted. He has left sufficient avios in his account for the meantime but after 6 months he intends to get on and use them.
