But if the OP has no problem with flying Allegiant -- taking into account that Allegiant will not rebook on other carriers in the event of IROPS -- there's no reason not to fly out of IAG. IAG is not the only airport where Allegiant is the sole carrier. One can plan around the lack of terminal amenities.
i agree ….it’s about what your priorities are. Just understand Allegiant is a limited service airline so if cancelations occur you can be stuck while major carriers can re-route you. The airport lacks amenities. It will be a different experience.
the smallest airport I ever flew out of Wilmington, DE when shuttle america existed in the mid/ late 90s ( US airways bought them). They were using a GA airfield then built a small terminal and baggage claim was pick up bags plane side. Boarding was off tarmac. I think it had 2 gates. This was pre TSA years. The bathroom was outside security.
