If it’s really that much of an issue, why not make a very simple rule: Upon boarding, turn off and hand over your personal phone to the No. 1 cabin crew member for storage. Upon disembarkation, retrieve your phone. Easy.
…and if there’s a family emergency mid-flight -one that needs relevant info from FA? Do you shut off your phone when you go into work, put it in a drawer, and turn it on at the end of the work day? United FAs are supposed to be treated different?
