I don't think MGM wants to give lifetime Gold status away (to LTTs) when they don't even give that to their top tier gamblers. I'm also sure MGM felt the Hyatt partnership was way too generous for Hyatt elites. Lastly, Marriott wants Titaniums to stay in LV Marriotts, not MGMs. Ambassador still requires 23k in spend and does not offer a published lifetime tier.
