Data point - A few months ago I was offered and accepted a retention offer on my Aspire card and was able to complete the spend within two weeks of the offer. After not receiving my bonus points, I inquired and was told that I did not meet the minimum spend and that some of my spend did not qualify, which was incorrect, I far exceeded the spend requirement and it was all at Hilton hotels. After going back and forth, Amex finally admitted that they are having "issues" with their systems and the missing points will be manually added to my account. They are aware of the problem and are working on it.
