I've only had this happen once at the Ren in Seattle, when southwest was in computer hell. I called like 8 hours before arrival, and they just said they were cancelling with no fee and thank you for being a Titanium member. IDK if that is why. At the time I was staying at the hotel maybe twice a year for a few years, so that probably wasn't a factor.
I was once a regular at that hotel - they always had a great staff. It might've been the combination of Titanium + your few stays there...I know it didn't take long at all before they were recognizing me as a returning guest. This was when I was at most a low-end Platinum.
