In fairness, it was just one data point. Not to imply that's the typical behavior. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else, so maybe it's uncommon. I will say, the full inventory came back a little while after I cancelled the two-pax PNR, so you could give it a try and maybe cancel if it doesn't work. But I suppose there is some risk involved.
