I would think members of OneWorld FF programs will be treated as AAdvantage members for this purpose but I would not be surprised if it takes a couple of IT iterations to get it right.

The policy described above is more generous than what I have assumed has been the case. Specifically, I thought that in the event of weather and ATC delays AA would never rebook on another non-JV airline. I have never been able to get them to do it for me.

AA is clearly making a huge push to get as many of its flyers on the loyalty program as possible. The value from a marketing and data intelligence standpoint is substantial.
