It's hit or miss; YMMV.

It's been the usual, at least for domestic flights:
  • Gate announcement prior to boarding and that they will be proactive in inspecting every bag before entering the jetway bridge
  • Announcement onboard during boarding process and some FAs actually enforcing it as soon as the pax enters the aircraft
  • Pleb check-in area funnel before security will occasionally have FAs hawkeye and enforcing sizer checks (I say this because I sometimes don't bother doing the roundabout walk through the premium check-in area)
  • Regardless of actually how "full" a flight is, they always announce "This is a VERY FULL FLIGHT!"
Again, YMMV, but enforcement still exists.
I haven't noticed if they turn a blind eye towards Zone 1 pax...
