Anyone ever have to cancel at this hotel within the 30-day cancellation period? Curious how that actually played out. Each reservation says there would be a one-night hotel charge so I called the Diamond Desk to find out exactly how much that would be in case I want to buy trip insurance to cover those penalties (I have three reservations so thought it would be three nights charge or approximately $3500 with tax). The agent called the hotel directly and came back and said there would be no actual monetary charge but that they would keep ALL the points for the 8 nights reserved on points and the free night certificate that I used for the 9th night if we canceled within those 30 days prior to our stay. Does this sound accurate? Anyone ever have to cancel at the last minute? Seems there is no way to insure this at all if they are just going to keep the points. Heaven forbid any of us ever have a true emergency and have to cancel.
