I get that KL status is a thing, it's just that I've never seen it, because normally I get a notice (wither in the app or via email) that I've cleared and to select a seat. Tapping on "Select seat" in the mobile app takes me to AC.com and then just hangs. Attempting to even view the PNR on AC.com just gives me the infinite AC spinning plane Ouroboros. While it's a minor thing, I'm calling in just coz I want to confirm a decent seat.

Admittedly this is one of those "weird' PNRs that Cow mentioned somewhere that are actually fine, but the website / app has struggles displaying. Reporting it here just in case others have the same curious experience.
I assume you mean from HL to KL (HN is Holding Need, which would then be actioned as accepted - KK then HK, or waitlisted - UU then HL).

KL is an advice code which needs to be 'accepted' to HK. The two IT failures are:

1. eUP process seems to miss this step when confirming from waitlist to update to HK
2. AC website doesn't handle KL correctly - it should treat the same as HK.
