Following your message, I had a look inside the terms & conditions of membership.
Article 7.2.1 is making reference only to "rates for Eligible booking Stays to earn Points" which is only a part of the member benefit..
Rates eligible to redeem points are generally indicated on the Website. When booking, the Member is given the option to redeem Rewards Points at the payment stage if permitted by the location, booking and rate.
I don't see that a "special deal" from the hotel itself allow the exclusion of the member benefit. Tour operator rate is excluding the earning points. I was thinking to the following benefits : Club Millesime...
Chapter 9 is about benefits and 936 refers to 721 regarding eligible stays.
The hotel will probably claim they offered you the tour operator rate.
Surprisingly even Accor plus rates are not eligible for benefits.
