Almost without exception I have found the folks at LGW professional, friendly and polite, including those in security (a far cry from some of the rudeness encountered in the past at T3). And onboard, 25-30 years ago the GB crews were invariably outstanding. Not that we have been unhappy with the BA boys and girls since.
That said Mrs R and I were delighted when our FNC flights were handed over to the care of LHR during Covid. Living in Staffordshire, the shorter journey to T5 made a huge difference, especially returning home avoiding the inevitable crawl along the worst part of the M25. We are so disappointed that from October, FNC returns to Gatwick. We'll still need to head there for our trips to Grenada, but Mrs R is adamant that from now on flights to FNC will have to be courtesy of Jet 2 or TUI from Brum. It won't be the same.
