I'm writing here before it happens. If the enhancement to the platinum program is something that was recently taken away. Then it's not really an enhancement!
(But boy... I would still very much appreciate if we were allowed to change flights again when on light fares....)
Yes, but those people continued supporting the airlines during tough times, at their risk, and with various constraints such as constant testing. It's only fair that they should be rewarded and not simply relied upon in times of crisis and then discarded.
Actually that is no longer correct, as Miles&More just overhauled their conditions and Senator (which is similar to Plat imho) is now considerably easier to reach, using segments. I ran the numbers and it's pretty much the exact same flight requirements as maintaining plat, but with the ease of not requiring you to clear the previous statuses and wipe your progress.
On the Subject of change fees, though I deem it a ...... move, to be fair, it's only a return to pre-COVID rules.
On reaching SEN on MM vs. Plat on FB, I beg to differ (at least for SH/MH flyers), you need 2000 points to get SEN which is 100 legs in Y, whereas you need only 300 XPs to get Plat which is only 60 legs. Of course, this can change if you need to reach Plat, which is 116 legs but from the 2nd year, it's already easier to maintain on FB rather than MM.
