I am in a similar situation like you: I have been SEN/HON for long enough so that LT SEN is achievable in the next years. After careful consideration, I decided to continue the minimum approach: 1,000 points from SQ and 1,000 QP from LHG will secure SEN every year till I cross the LT SEN line. This will take a little bit longer but will not require any effort and leaves me the free and best choice of carrier whenever I travel.
Allow me one comment on LH and award availability: I waitlisted 5 F tickets last year using the SEN waitlist and all five cleared including a companion award from Germany to the US. While award availability in general was very poor, I felt my SEN status made a huge difference.
