totally agree, it might be more difficult, but as always every situation is different. I am close to lifetime sen too, so for me its a no-brainer to concentrate half of my flying on LH group for 2 years now.
i was not aware that they almost addet 50% more flying, but the sweepspots like dubai should make it possible to maintain for status, and cheap booking classes qualifying too, makes it much more easier. I guess not everybody can be happy with the changes
If i didn't have to fly monthly 1 to 2 intercont. flights, i would never try to get HON status, it is not worth it doing it from scratch without any use. if you dont fly after qualifying, it does not make any sense

IMHO that requires too many concessions for an airline that is not focused on passenger satisfaction enough.
I was a (Cessna-)HON myself and only joined when service was already in decline. I don’t think it’s any better today.
Lifetime SEN is a nice carrot to collect and can be your with just 7 years of HONdom.
