Ok, I can now see that it might be more difficult to reach HON, but throw in 2 dubai/ TLV or any other 6h interconti destination returns from lets say AMS-FRA-ZRH-DXB for 580 HON Miles and you can reach HON pretty easily. (i have to be in dubai twice a year anyways, and I guess many people fly there too) so optimizing your flying pattern a bit to adapt to the new situation should be easy for most HONs.

and I am sure most HONs have to fly a bit in europe too, so 1hour flights giving 40HON Points and if you connect 80, i think these small hops add up quite quickly too.

for me it was a simple calculation, does it make sense to pay an extra 7k on top of my normal travel spendings (and dont forget, 2 SEN Evoucher + 4 Evouchers + 2 Evouchers at 7K points) + the Senator Partnercard and better awards, thats 100% worth it for me for the extra cash I am paying to fly LH in C and F for 5month.

and not to forget the lifetime senator, this was one reason too, i totally forgot to mention it.

AMS-FRA-SIN in First gives now 640 HON QP . You need 6,000 HON QP. So 9.5 trips.

That's 50% more flying to get to and maintain HON.

I fail to see how that is easier.
