I know last year I had a flight from JNB to ATL the seat had issues, and they brought in a mechanic who partially fixed it. The seat was loose/ would shake when partially reclined. The crew asked me what I wanted to do, as they would have delayed the flight to continue to work on the seat. Unsure if they really would have or not but they did give me 15K miles.
