i have 2 A first tickets in january.
as my business requires me to fly to asia once or twice per month, i had prebooked a lot of F and C tickets out of AMS, OSL etc and as I planned this with an excel file half year ago, each trips is netting me a minum of 680- 800 HON cicle points, i will hit 1540HON points on my return flight. (of course I dont fly directly to AMS, there is always 1 or 2 european stops within europe muc, fra , zrh before reaching my starting point)
end January i will hit 1.6k HON circle points adding 1 to 2 C and F tickets per month until april.
so for my pattern as I have to fly anyways, its very easy to hit the 6K points, I still dont get why the new system would be harder for most HONs to requalify?
if you fly a return in c or f monthly you will hit 6k easily?
compared to my usual costs flying monthly, the HON qualification adds an extra 7K euro (over 12 month in total) as I have calulated, so given the benefits the HON status gives me, thats well worth it for me (i.e award gurantee etc., i really had a hard time to burn any miles last year with LH due to no avaibility)
the only problem with this is, it will force me to fly more LH, compared to ANA, SQ, JL, EVA, AF i flew normally, thats a bit of a product downgrade... well there is always LX..
