Years ago we were looking out the window of a LH Senator Lounge at FRA idly watching one of those little tractors that pull luggage carts and cargo. As it went around a corner a whole pallet full of boxes neatly slid off the little flat-bed trailer and along the tarmac, remaining upright. The tractor kept on its merry way, the driver probably unaware. We left before anyone returned to retrieve it.
Also years ago, at BOS, I was looking out the window (probably a UA flight to DEN or SFO), and saw a small station wagon with the Air Vermont logo. The driver picked up some transfer bags from the adjacent UA plane, put some in the back end, and the others on the roof -- which had one of those built-in luggage racks, but no actual tie downs. The driver made a sharp curve in pulling out, and all the roof bags fell off. He stopped, put the bags back on the rooftop rack, and drove off at a fast rate. Two bags fell off for a second time, but he didn't spot it. I still wonder if those bags ever made it to Vermont!
