I would not want to jinx it, but as both Silver and Bronze CH, I have so far always been able to select 1D/1F when flying CE to my regular routes, at T-72 or check in, only time that I was not able to, was on a Trip to Sofia, surely packed with Status Card holders on a TP run.
as in one of my recent thread, when flying solo, I have also had seat next to me blocked (1D), and on my most recent sector, one of the only 2 seats blocked in the whole 7 rows CE cabin
