Onboard will be the same price as doing it ahead, but without the guarantee that seats will still be available by then, so you should just do it now.

I don't know the cash price, but I am pretty sure it will cost more than the cash value of 63k miles that most people would attach (less than USD 1000).
This is a Prem Flex Plus ticket. Any chance of a complimentary upgrade at all or zero chance?
The flight doesn't look overbooked in W or Y so I would say little chance.
