Perhaps misinformation but I did challenge it at check in, having previously enjoyed the option of breakfast in both places. the staff member told me it was a recent change. They went to the back office to ask a manger If they could make an exception and came back with the same response.
I created a Marriott case so will see what the response is. Although as others have noted it is technically within the Elite T&C’s to limit to only lounge.
