If you want either of the discounts I referenced, you would have to book from BA. A $16 yearly AARP membership (you can join as an "Associate" member if you are under 50) would get you a $65/ticket discount. The Chase/BA credit-card discount is 10%.
Just make sure you check that the fare difference, if any doesn't negate the discount, I've seen differences as much as $150 in economy between the same flights booked with AA vs BA.

AA's IT and CS are also much better. (For pre-trip changes, day-of you'll be speaking with the operating airline regardless)
