Thank you guys for the informative posts. I definitely agree that gifting these when you're a globalist makes sense. GOH perk of getting a qualifying night is great. I wouldn't want to gift it and have it not be used, definitely better to confirm your friends have the stay scheduled.

So the only way the GOH award comes back to you is if the reservation is cancelled by friends, is if you book it via the phone for them? It's better not to gift it through the app?
