How long it takes for a change on partner award reflects at partner manage booking?
I just did a change on an AA award online, by making the US domestic layover to a stopover of a few days. Itinerary is ZRH-PHL-FLL, with an overnight layover at PHL, and the PHL-FLL booked in T since that was the only thing available at time of booking. Now there are Us available in a few options. The change from layover to stopover is booked in U. IIRC AA domestic except the 3 class Transcon planes, all other planes the front end is booked in U. So AS uses the correct code.
I found new availability on the PHL-FLL segment, several options showed up with U availability. I also wanted to spend a few days at Philly. (Originally I did not even remember the stopover could also be used in US, with the port of entry being the stopover... so it was booked as a layover.)
The website processed it smoothly (although it initially gave me an error when I forgot to choose the insurance...). New tickets were issued - I checked against the original reservation, these are new ticket numbers. Also received AS Confirmation email on the change.
However when I went to AA site to pull up the reservation, AA site still shows the Old itinerary, i.e. the domestic layover still a layover as originally booked.
I thought the booking would be instant given AS shows everything is done, and new tickets issued. When the award was booked, also online, AA site immediately showed the reservation and I was able to select seats. Now AA site still shows the old, no longer exist booking.
Given the 737 Max 9 fiasco, I dont want to call AS just yet to find out if the info has been sent to AA when a change of routing is processed with new tickets issued. This is the first time I have done online change to an existing award. So I dont have any prior experience to go by.
Can people who have done online award changes chime in to give your experiences? Much appreciated.
