If this was the result of a schedule change, I'd recommend having DL book you on an earlier flight from JFK to SEA (if possible) or reroute you via DTW or MSP or ATL or even via LAX so you can get D1 on JFK-LAX, in addition to having D1 to HND. Another option would be KE via ICN on a DL codeshare (providing this is a revenue ticket and you could easily be rebooked onto this option).
I looked at alternate routes from IND - PVG later this year. The IND - DTW - PVG route is very convenient, but I wanted to compare fares. I got similar connection times through SEA: 35 minutes? And risk missing a once-a-day TPAC flight? Yeah, no thanks, Delta.
