If the desire is to upgrade, applying PlusPoints on nonCPU routes is required
On CPU routes as a GS, applying PlusPoints will normally increase your priority.
Why would you think not applyng PlusPoints if GS?
There is a case for 1Ks not to apply PlusPoints if on a CPU Y/B/M fare, but that is an unique case for 1Ks.
