Japan does not have a delay compensation and duty of care like EU261. But ATC restrictions would normally waive all delay compensation. But I would probably push somewhat more for the hotel, but there are no specific rules to force the issue.
Yea, the incoming flight (which would be my first flight was delayed). Thought so, at first they said hotel covered by them, but after she spoke to manager she said can't pay for hotel due to ATC. Oh wells, CC + insurance paid covered it a bit + hotels were cheap in Naha anyways, so wasn't too bad.
