Puente Aereo is IME better than fast track. (who are really annoying about guests)
Personally, if the queue looked terrible at transfer security I would just pop down to the one at arrivals. (I never even knew it was there until my last trip) If that was closed or busy, I would go up to departures.
It's worth noting that, although waiting in a queue is annoying, it still takes far more time in most cases to go through arrivals, navigate the scrum of people waiting outside, get in the lift upstairs, etc.
