People will use Marriott partners just because they're Marriott partners (where you can earn some points and/or elite night credit). That's the reality with the biggest names in loyalty like Delta, United, or Marriott. This WILL generate incremental bookings for MGM.
Yes and No. The point I was mentioning was VALUE and INCENTIVE to take advantage of the partnership. Wyndham might not be a big player, but the relationship works because there's value on both side. I've stayed probably 15 nights at Wyndham hotels because I have their top status because of my Caesars status..it's something I would've never even considered before. There's no value/incentive right now for Marriott/MGM elites to do something similar because they don't receive any substantial benefit.

And I doubt this is going to generate substantial incremental bookings for MGM unless it's for points or employee bookings. We'll know soon enough when the results of the partnership are revealed in the quarterly or annual meetings for MGM and Marriott. but for anybody that knows the Vegas market and how people book, typically people comparison shop using OTA's like Expedia and Priceline for Vegas or to their preferred casino site. But who knows - maybe Marriott will buck the trend...I doubt it, but I'll wait to hear the results of it.
