Apple: proprietary tags, same for Samsung. And you do need to have an app as there is no web interface, so cannot access it from my computer (Macbook Pro).

Apparently the SmartThings app in the relevant app store (so Win and Mac both have it) does the same thing for the Samsung Tags But not sure it can detect the tags directly
