Stays booked through the following methods at MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy destinations are not considered Qualifying Stays:
  • MGM Resorts websites
  • MGM Rewards Mobile App
  • MGM Rewards website
  • MGM Resorts Call Center (non-prevailing rates such as casino offers, MGM Rewards member discounts, etc.

And this is why the offer is DOA for most of everyone. MGM often has sales for their rewards members that place rates at 30% off. During regular times, their everyday sale is 15% off, or 5% off rates plus a $30 (for lower end) or $50 (for higher end hotels) food and beverage credit daily. Why would anyone book with Marriott?? MGM will also not waive resort fees for their elites if the rooms are booked through Marriott (similar to their rule with Hyatt bookings for MGM hotels). Note this will affect concur rates too. All loaded rates for MGM hotels in Concur are typically "owned" by MGM, therefore it will show up as an "MGM" booking and not a Marriott one. This is quite honestly one of the worst and most wasted opportunities that MGM And Marriott have participated in with rules that only end up hurting them (penny wise, pound foolish).
