For the 900th time, no it isn’t. HA’s 717s carry 128 passengers and a respectable belly load, and they fly a bazillion flights a day. There isn’t enough gate space at HNL or OGG to handle upwards of 50% more flights on E175s to carry the same load. It’s conceivable that there could be a place for the 175 in a mixed fleet, but it’s just not big enough to replace what the 717s do.
