I see absolutely no sense in a member rate on the member website that excludes all member benefits, and I think most members would be surprised to learn that such rates exist.
I would like to try Outrigger Koh Samui, but I won't book until they start honouring membership benefits.
You state that it is possible to redeem Discovery Dollars at check-out for a pre-paid rate. This is misleading as it is not possible to pay for the room charge, but only for other incidental spend during the stay.
I agree with you on the misleading nature of that. Discovery dollars are quite hard to spend and many of the places I've stayed in don't really want to honor them. This program is quite chaotic and not well managed and, I suspect, will probably get "rebranded" in a few more years to fix the reputation damage.
