Strange disappearance of business award space after booking two seats
Wondering if folks can lend me any experience/advice:
Wanted to book SFO-LIS awards for our family of four in business, using miles from another airline. Before I booked, there were 4+ seats in business available, as I could have booked all four seats in one reservation. But I wanted to use points from two different accounts, so I'd book 2 seats from each account.
Strangest thing happened. After I booked 2 seats on one reservation, all the rest of the business award inventory got immediately pulled. I couldn't book the other two seats! It's like the system was set up to allow one RESERVATION in business, regardless of the number of seats.
Is this a normal thing for TP? Might I have any luck if I cancel the reservation and hope that they re-open 4+ seats? Or should I just keep the two seats, and hope two more open up later?
