Diamond Breakfast Amenity at Holiday Inn Club Vacations Properties

I booked nights at the IHG Holiday Inn Resort in Las Vegas.

Horrible check-in experience. No recognition as a Diamond, so I asked. No upgrade, no breakfast, and no amenity points. Was told, "Sorry, we don't do that here."

So I called IHG the next morning. Was told that YES, I should be receiving breakfast. The only loophole that would allow a hotel to refuse is if they don't own the restaurant (some are apparently owned and operated by third parties). They tried calling but there was no manager on duty. They left a message and I was told to expect a call. (Diamond service line was great!). Of course, no call.

I stopped by the front desk in the afternoon. Was told no manager was available, but if I'd leave my name and number I'd be called back. Nothing.

I called IHG Diamond Line the next morning. I explained that I confirmed the restaurant was owned by the hotel, but they were still refusing. They called again, and once again no manager on duty.

A few days after my stay I got a call from someone at the hotel. They explained that they were an IHG timeshare and as such do not provide ANY benefits. She proudly boasted that "We don't give free breakfast to ANYONE!".

I'm writing to IHG and we'll see where this goes. They should not be branded as IHG if they are not truly IHG.
