I doubt that was intentional. There have been days already this year when routing you on AA/BA through LHR, for example, would have resulted in similar problems due to extreme weather.

I concur with others that if there's a valid *A routing available, particularly on a JV partner, you're unlikely to get much traction asking to be rebooked on a non-partner. From UA's perspective, why should they do that?
