Does gift cards use (as form of payment) void the eligibility of purchase made through the AA Shopping Portal, or are there exceptions with "selected" vendors....?
I was hoping to be able to use Home Depot and Amazon Gift Cards to make purchases through AA Shopping but I guess its all a Pipe-dream....??
Please note: Im not looking to get AA shopping miles/lps from the actual purchase of the gift cards, but rather use them as forms of payment only.... so I would be buying the actual gift cards in a separate transaction but then using the gift cards as form of payment for the purchases of the goods/products - looking to get the usual miles/lp benefits just like for purchases I would make and use my credit card as form of payment.
Thanks !!!!!!
Read the terms for each merchant before you click through. Most explicitly say that purchases made using gift cards as form of payment do not earn miles. BUT, in my experience, purchases made with a gift card (in whole or in part) do in fact earn miles. But you are taking some risk - if for whatever reason the miles don’t post automatically, cartera would be within their rights to deny you if you submit a missing miles request.
