A GM can be friendly and charming and yet run a terrible operation. In fact, that's often the explanation for how someone who lacks operational competence can reach a position of responsibility.
This is a valid point. I don't think I've ever had an issue with points crediting, but I've had an issue with billing probably every stay. Usually the FDA fixes it after I point it out, but it is annoying.
