Previously I always used by platinum card to pay for cruises to take advantage of the shipboard credit. However, the benefit was denied for the last couple of cruises because the "fare was too low"!

Is there any additional benefit of using my Amex card to pay? Otherwise I will use another card that provides 2x points (charge is about $40K)
