AA's award ticketing process makes very little sense. I've booked 4 trips with partner award segments in the last 3 weeks - everything from the ticketing times to the ticketing process to the "rules" being applied to these awards has been variable. Some took 3-5 days to ticket, some were ticketed within minutes of hanging up. Some book normally online, others require a call. Some phone agents let me tack on or change segments, some wouldn't.
Truly a "hang up and call again" situation, which could be a real burden given hold times for non-elites.
